I'm eyeballing one of the Hoopnotica hoops but I am curious if anyone knows what tube of tubing they are made from: black irrigation or
yellow gas tubing? Just curious because I have one of each type and I find them each to be different to hoop with.
TIA!
You know, I've always wondered the same thing. When I first found out about hooping, I *almost* bought one of their hoops, but decided to make my own instead... :D
pretty sure it is 160 psi polyethylene (black tubing)
is it 160 psi? cuz back when i was still using a 160 psi i hoop i met up with my friend who had a hoopnotica hoop, and it seemed much lighter than my hoop.
have you emailed anyone from their site? i bet they would help you out with their specs! :)
Diane, was the one you tried a Hoopnotica Travel Hoop? Those are definitely lighter because they're not made from tubing. The sections are a molded plastic material, from what I could tell.
Nope, haven't emailed anyone, but I did post on their forum and no one has answered.
no it was definitly a regular hoop. it was a smaller diameter than the 160 psi hoop i had with me, but even so it felt much lighter, had difficulty using it some. this was like two years ago tho. i still say emailing someone is the way to go, their specs could have changed, or else i am remembering my friend's hoop wrong.
The travel hoop is made of tubing, with riveted on molded end caps. These hoops come from overseas, so it might be hard to match up a tubing type.
I tried to put together a post of all the different types of tubing to make hoops from. We will eventually turn it into an article, but we are trying to get feedback.
