Hi,
I was turned on to hooping by a friend in Boston. I thought I'd try making my own but it turns out that particular kind of tubing is *impossible* to find. I thought I'd check on here to see if anyone's making/selling hoops. I'm in Pasadena and so excited to get started!!

Re: new member - would like to buy a hoop
Thu, July 10, 2008 - 3:14 PMif you go onto Lowes.com and search for Silver-Line tubing you can buy it on there and pick it up at the Burbank one...I checked and they have at least the 3/4" 160 psi available!
I don't know if this link will work, but here...

Re: new member - would like to buy a hoop
Thu, July 10, 2008 - 3:15 PMThe Lowes in Burbank is well stocked for the proper kind of tubing and connectors, if you haven't given up the idea of making your own. -

Re: new member - would like to buy a hoop
Thu, July 10, 2008 - 4:09 PMExcellent, thanks! I was wondering where there was a Lowe's nearby!
I've ordered a hoop but I have not given up on the idea of making my own - I can already tell it's going to "take", you know? So the hoop-making will be the next step.
Now to see if there are any hooping groups in Pasadena... -

Re: new member - would like to buy a hoop
Thu, July 10, 2008 - 7:01 PMhey Sarah, I see that you have found the new Inland Hoopies Tribe (I saw you post a response to their post on the LA Hooping Tribe). You should also join the Hoopadelic tribe. tribes.tribe.net/hoopadelic Catherine, AKA Hoopadelic, is the bomb! I used to live in LA and had the pleasure of taking a class from her. She also does hoop jams around the Eagle Rock area I think. Good Luck and enjoy your new found hoopiness!

Re: new member - would like to buy a hoop
Thu, July 10, 2008 - 3:19 PMHi Sarah,
Welcome to hooping! Lowe's in Torrance has the tubing as well. I find the connectors at Osh Hardware. Part number 350107 for 3/4 inch insert coupling (if you are using 3/4 inch tubing) :) Good luck and have FUN!!!!! -

Re: new member - would like to buy a hoop
Thu, July 10, 2008 - 10:07 PMI think Hoopnotica's hoops are some of the prettiest, but I have had a lot of problems with their shipping. However, my last order came in very quickly without issue. I have a lot of fun choosing from each seasonal line that comes out. Their summer 08 line was just posted.

Re: new member - would like to buy a hoop
Sat, July 19, 2008 - 3:38 PMI'm still making collapsible hoops at www.mrhoopers.biz
Unique in the hooping world, the ends are dovetailed to prevent pinching and pringling. The bungee stretched tight to it's limit and secured with a metal clasp.
