Hey guys! After much time and thought I've decided to change my name. I was once known as Venus and I have now changed my name to Phoenix Hoops Rising. The reasons are many and if anyone has questions or concerns, please let me know. Thank you!

Blessings to all!

One word of warning, there are at least 2 different groups that use the name Phoenix Rising.. both are fire-arts, poi, spinning etc etc.
1 is in Cali and the other Peoria. They are the first thing I thought of when I heard the name.
The addition of hoop at the end may help but...
You may end up getting confused with them or vice-versa by people.

how about other variations on the phoenix theme:

    Bird of Paradise Hoops
    Out of the Ashes Hoops
    Reborn Hoops
    Rise Anew Hoops
    Re-Emergence Hoop Dance
    Risen Flames,
    etc etc

even if you find these names lame (or like thinly disguised Born-Again Christian hooping names :) ), you get my idea.
the phoenix speaks to regeneration, power, change, and beauty. you can express the essence of the phoenix in a less conventional way.

Hmm... I wasn't thinking about a name for a business, just a Hoop name for me. Got any thoughts on that?

What didn't you like about Venus? I think that's very pretty and it's cool that it's a heavenly body, a beautiful round planet that we can even see from from here on earth sometimes, spinning in our spiral universe, a name associated with feminism and beauty that also represents circles within circles.

Hmm... it's not that I didn't like Venus, I just didn't feel like it was very hooper-ish. I wanted to incorperate hooping and the phoenix has always been my favorite symbol and personal totem.
