Favorite Hooper Networks?

Do you have a favorite way to connect with hoopers via the worldwide net? I have been trying frantically to keep up with the social networking that is sweeping the hooping world partly because of curiosity and I am eager to learn as much as I can from other hoopers to help me with my art form. There is nothing better than skimming through hoop blogs and hooping tutorials when I am stuck in a hooping rut. I prefer Facebook, Youtube, Tribe, Hooping.org, Hoop City, Vimeo, Myspace, Meetup.com in that order and was wondering what everyone else preferred. This question first came to my mind when I noticed hooping.org seemed to recently have much much less forum activity than Hoop City. One could spend all day on Hoop City reading and watching tutorials. Since keeping up with most sites is extremely time consuming (posting, pics, bio's, videos, updating profiles, asking questions, answering questions, ect.) for me and because I am running two profiles on a regular basis (BHoops~personal & Aurahoops~business) and trying to keep up with hoop friends I am a bit overwhelmed. It seems like a new network pops up daily. While I know this will not change for a long time, I am wondering what the majority of hoopers prefer to use. From the recent looks of things it seems to be hoop city. I always make Facebook and Tribe a priority, just my preference, but can't decide if I should invest more time in Hooping.org or Hoop City. Any suggestions?

I find myself checking with tribe and hooping.org before anything else. I haven't checked into hoop city. The hooping.org forums are still pretty new, so it might be a while before it fully takes flight and has more conversations than any of us can keep up with. : )

Hooping.org is information based while Hoop City is more community based. The numbers are growing quickly at Hoop City, but I have not checked out Hooping.org yet.

I love Hoop City! :-D It has a great community with a home feel to it. And there is so much you can do there, vids, pics, forums, classes, chat, etc. I also like that you can have notifications sent to you when someone replies to a post you're following, so you don't have to go checking back and try to remember what you've posted to.... like you do with Tribe or FB.

I also check into tribe and occationally hop over to hooping.org. Each one has it's own merits and attracts different people. So I use them for different reasons. But I really only use Facebook for personal stuff, friends for college, or people I've met in person, etc. I don't really feel that their groups are very user friendly.

I love Tribe. I love the way it's organically organized itself and I love the community here. I've learned so much from this particular site that I find it hard to invest my time and attention elsewhere. These folks feel like family to me.

agreed. i really like how tribe is set up alot! it's easy to click around and explore. endless subjects too, not just hooping!

facebook? ugh. i have been trying to use mainstream social networking sites less and less...

hoop city... i find myself on hoop city a lot because it's extremely active. im chatty at work:P but i feel like tribe has better access to more experienced hoopers when you ask a question. hoop city is a lot of new hoopers who hopped over from safire's youtube stuff. so many questions on the boards, my first impulse is to answer with a link to the tribe thread where the issue was already discussed at length, but i dont think thats good message board ettiquette. a really friendly community tho! 2000 members now!

the hooping.org forums are kind of similar to tribe in some respects, but i find it be not user friendly in other ways. i like how on here clicking 'my tribes' takes you to a list where the tribes that have new activity are bold. where as on hooping.org you'd have to go into each group from your multi-page, ever expanding, chronological group list, and go into each group singley to find out if there's been any new activity. that can take a really long time to just check if there's even been any discussion! i hardly check the hooping.org forums anymore because that's put me off as a person whos looking easily hop around to conversations
