Thu, April 24, 2008 - 1:30 AMYes! Happy Birthday! Did you get anything new, round and shiny?
It's a bit early to raise a glass of wine, but I'll salute you with my breakfast herbal tea. Not quite the same thing, but I'm sure you understand.

Fri, April 25, 2008 - 11:54 PMWow, thanks! I just saw this. I really appreciate your good birthday wishes. I don't know why America's so focused on youth; I feel better and better the older that I get. Anyone agree? :) Cheers to age ... and to hoopers! Lots of love back at'cha. -

Re: Happy Birthday Revolva
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 2:50 AMYes, youth is highly overrated in our culture at the moment. A bit of age brings experience and tolerance which is great for interaction with others. But it also brings other delights, like feeling comfortable in our own skin. When I was 22 I married for the 1st time. I was young and thought that the only way I could be a successful wife would be to mimic my mother who had been doing everything the hard way for decades, hand washing, ironing socks, never working so having little social interaction. However I had to work. So I slaved when I got home, always housework, always ironing, always cooking.... How dull was I. How dull was my life.
I coped with that for 7 years. Now I'm married to a wonderful man who would never even consider ironing a sock and I have time to be me and do what I want with my life. That was a gift of maturity. And then there is hooping, a gift for my body that means I feel that I can do anything I could do when I was 22 and more. -

Re: Happy Birthday Revolva
Sun, April 27, 2008 - 6:33 PMI definitely hear y'all on feeling better with age. I feel much better than I did in my 20s....more focussed, healthy, sane, confident and energetic. I just don't recover from late nights or hangovers as fast....
I'm glad to hear you had a great time in the sassy green & purple dress on your birthday. Revolva. I will cheers you again for being born!
And Sue, glad to hear you are not ironing socks anymore! Cheers to you too!
