Peace all,
I'm just getting started hooping and am wondering if the size and weight of the hoop I'm using will affect ease of learning. Thanks for your help.

Re: Beginner's question
Tue, February 17, 2004 - 6:19 PMIt seems as if the heavier they are, the easier it is to keep them up and going, but tricks can be easier if the hoop is lighter. Mine is pretty heavy and I love it, but I know people out there would beg to differ:O) -

Re: Beginner's question
Tue, February 17, 2004 - 6:19 PMHey, Melissa! Here's a post from hooping.org with a couple tips for picking the right-sized hoop for you:
www.hooping.org/archives/000061.html
As for weight, it depends. Heavier hoops will be easier, thanks to the extra centrifugal force. BUT! The first couple times you hoop with a weighty hoop, you will bruise a bit on your hips...something that doesn't happen if you use a more kid-weight hoop. -

Wed, February 18, 2004 - 9:10 AMhey lady,
I met you at GOTT 2003-- you and the other lovely hooping goddesses present are the primary inspirations for this newfound interest. So... thanks! And, thanks for the link and tips.
Peace and love,
